New Delhi: The Grand Expo 2026, a national exhibition celebrating India’s rich handicraft and handloom traditions, has commenced in the national capital with the support of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. Organised by the Art and Craft Vikas Sansthan, the 15-day exhibition is being held at the Open Space, State Emporia Complex, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Connaught Place, New Delhi, from October 22 to November 5, 2026.
The exhibition aims to promote Indian handicrafts, handloom products, indigenous entrepreneurship and the capabilities of the country’s MSME sector. With the theme of ‘Local to Global’, the event seeks to provide artisans, weavers and small business owners with a platform to showcase their products, connect with customers and explore opportunities to expand their market reach.
Organised as a special Diwali exhibition, The Grand Expo 2026 brings together traditional craftsmanship and regional products from different parts of India. It highlights the country’s cultural diversity, creative talent and the potential of locally manufactured products to reach wider domestic and international markets.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, former Member of Parliament and Rashtriya Lok Dal Parliamentary Board Chairman K. C. Tyagi emphasised the importance of strengthening the MSME sector in achieving the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He stated that the goal of a self-reliant nation would remain incomplete without the expansion of MSMEs and the creation of employment and affordable economic opportunities for small artisans.
Tyagi appreciated the initiatives of the MSME Ministry to facilitate loans at lower interest rates and provide support to small enterprises. He also congratulated the organisers for creating a platform that promotes traditional skills, local businesses and indigenous products.
The exhibition features a wide range of products across categories, including handloom and textiles, handicrafts, home décor, contemporary fashion, traditional jewellery, pottery and terracotta. Visitors can explore handmade products reflecting the craftsmanship and artistic heritage of different Indian states. Regional delicacies from across the country are also available, adding a culinary dimension to the event.
Beyond shopping and product displays, the expo offers visitors an opportunity to experience India’s cultural traditions, folk art, craftsmanship and regional food under one roof. The initiative is expected to help artisans and small entrepreneurs connect directly with consumers and improve the visibility of their products.
Rajkumar Kashyap, Secretary of the Art and Craft Vikas Sansthan, said that such exhibitions are designed to connect local artisans and entrepreneurs with broader markets and strengthen the reputation of Indian products. He highlighted that promoting indigenous goods and introducing traditional crafts to new consumers are important components of the ‘Local to Global’ vision.
Pramila Tiwari, President of the organisation, said that the institution has been actively working in marketing and social development. Drawing on its experience of organising marketing programmes in various cities, the organisation continues to focus on the economic empowerment of artisan communities, preservation of traditional heritage and promotion of emerging entrepreneurship.
