New Delhi: Shri Jatin Kumar Nayak has assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India.
His appointment follows the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), as communicated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy through an order dated October 29, 2026.
Shri Nayak holds a Master’s Degree in Commerce from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India and a qualified Company Secretary.
Prior to taking over as CMD of IREDA, he served as Executive Director (Finance) at REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of the erstwhile REC Transmission Projects Company Limited, a subsidiary of REC.
During his distinguished career, Shri Nayak has worked with several prominent public sector organisations, including NHPC Limited, Hindustan Copper Limited, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited.
With over three decades of professional experience, he brings extensive expertise in corporate finance, resource mobilisation, strategic treasury management, taxation, project appraisal, lending operations, loan recovery and stressed asset management.
His experience across the power, mining and metals sectors is expected to strengthen IREDA’s financial and institutional capabilities and support its role in financing India’s renewable energy expansion and clean energy transition.
